Tips to ace your WBCS Prelims 2018

Know your syllabus

Most aspirants will join a coaching institute and will get a comprehensive list of books. But there are those who plan to study on their own. We recommend that you get in touch with a reliable source and get a complete list of books. A local library subscription always helps. Once you get hold of the exact WBCS syllabus and books you are all set.

Manage your time

Regardless of whether you plan to brave the exam on your own or are joining a preparatory class, you will have to manage your time. Draw out a time table and stick to it. Plan your study schedule and ensure that you don’t deviate even for a minute.

Buy the right books

Buying the essential books always helps. You can always get extra notes and reference books that help you understand the chapters for each topic better. Before you begin with graduate level studies make sure you get all the CBSE and ICSE books for science, social studies, mathematics and English from classes VI to XII. Reading these will help you create the right base on which to build upon.

Always make short notes while studying

Each chapter for each subject should be given equal importance. Make short note simultaneously so you can refer to them at a later stage. This also helps in revision in the long run.

Complete your syllabus in time

Finish your syllabus for each subject on time. That way you will have ample time for further study and revision.

Constant revision

There is absolutely no substitute for continual revision.

Solve as many sample test papers as you possibly can

The one thing that helps is solving previous years’ papers. Make sure you constantly appear for mock tests. That way you’ll be able to keep track of your progress.
